The troubleshooting steps given below to change User Account Control settings will help you fix the error:
1. Look for the QuickBooks Desktop icon and right-click on it.
2. Choose Open file location and tap the Backspace key once.
3. Right-click the QuickBooks 20XX folder, where XX denotes the year.
4. Choose Properties.
5. Select the Security tab and select Edit, then Add.
6. Select Everyone and then OK.
7. Choose the Full Control option and click Apply.
8. Repeat the two above steps but choose Users at the place of everyone.
9. Open the Control Panel.
10. Within the search icon of the taskbar, write Control Panel and open it.
11. Now, in the search, type UAC.
12. Choose Change User Account Control.
13. Move the slider to turn on AUC.
14. Turn off UAC by moving the slider towards Never Notify and click OK.
15. Enter the password if prompted.
16. Restart the computer.
