• On Monday, the BJPs legislators wore caps with I am Savarkar written on them as they arrived for the winter session of the Maharashtra assembly.
   
• The legislators including Devendra Fadnavis wore caps to protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhis remark against VD Savarkar.
   
• Fadnavis said, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should tender an unconditional apology over his remarks on Savarkar."

• He further said, "He does not seem to have studied Indias history of the Independence movement.
   
• This demand comes after Rahul Gandhi in a rally said that his name is Rahul Gandhi and not Rahul Savarkar and he will not apologize.
