Plastic waste management in India is a pressing need. The country produces over 3.4 million tonnes of plastic every year. Although reports suggest that over 50% of the trashed plastics are appropriately recycled, the data is certainly questionable. KSF, a community-led NGO in India, envisions tackling the problem of plastic waste at source. The NGO initiates collection centres to channelise plastic waste, especially single-use plastics, and proceed with responsible recycling of plastics.
