Talks still underway, NIA summon issue raised in the farmers-govt meeting

  • The 10th round of talks between the govt and the agitating farmers is still underway at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
  • The govt has again offered the amendment in the farm laws to the farmers but the farmers made their stand clear they didn't want anything lower than the repeal of laws.
  • The farmers also raised the issue of summon of NIA to the farmers' leader and the govt gave assurance to farmers that it will look into the matter.
  • Earlier today, the apex court over the centre's plea, stated that the police has the right to decide who can enter into Delhi and perform protest.
  • Letting you know, today talk was scheduled on January 19 but the centre govt postponed it to January 20.
