• AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that those who died due to the coronavirus are martyrs.
• Owaisi said that those who die due to epidemic get the status of a martyr in Islam and burial does not require 'ghusl' (bath) or 'kafan' (shroud).
• He also said that 'namaz-e-janazah' of such martyrs should be offered immediately and the burial should be completed in the presence of few people.
• This statement comes at a time when families of those who died due to coronavirus are facing difficulties due to strict restrictions in the disposal of bodies.
• Telangana has reported 128 positive cases out of which 9 people attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin and all of them died.
