AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that those who died due to the coronavirus are martyrs.
Owaisi said that those who die due to epidemic get the status of a martyr in Islam and burial does not require 'ghusl' (bath) or 'kafan' (shroud).
He also said that 'namaz-e-janazah' of such martyrs should be offered immediately and the burial should be completed in the presence of few people.
This statement comes at a time when families of those who died due to coronavirus are facing difficulties due to strict restrictions in the disposal of bodies.
Telangana has reported 128 positive cases out of which 9 people attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin and all of them died.
