In simple words, ink cartridges are meant to be used only for inkjet printers and contain a liquid toned with pigments or dyes. On the other hand, toner cartridges are raw material of laser printers only. Toner cartridges contain a fine, dry mixture of plastic particles, carbon and black or other coloring agents that assists in printing the actual digital file on the paper. Printer Ink and Toner Cartridges are used for both commercial and personal use, but the manner in which both the printing materials work/prints on a piece of paper is completely different. Lets check out how the two cartridges differ from each other.
Differences between Printer Ink and Toner Cartridges
1.)The primary difference between ink and toner cartridges is that the former is a liquid substance, either based on dye or pigment. Whereas, toner cartridges are solid substance in the form of powder.
2.)In Printer Ink and Toner Cartridges the latter one is applied in laser printing technology, which is not so straightforward compared to Inkjet printers which spurts tiny droplets of ink through symmetrical tiny nozzles and onto the paper.
