Windows 10 Your phone turns tablets into drawing tablets for phones.

After unsuccessful attempts to create its own mobile platform, Microsoft uses a different strategy to remain relevant in the smartphone market. In particular, he is developing a connection between Windows 10 computers and mobile devices, especially Android, which have almost perfectly integrated them into the Windows space. The upcoming update is impressive but also puzzling because it allows owners of computers running Windows 10 with active pencils to indirectly use this pen to draw on an Android phone.

One of the factors that probably slow down Android in terms of becoming an operating system that artists can use compared to the iPad's is the lack of devices that support an active stylus. These are not just ordinary plastic or rubber sticks that you would buy for $ 5 or so, but some with non-trivial equipment to determine precise movements, pressure and even tilt. The only way to achieve this is to buy a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab or, recently, connect a drawing tablet like Wacom or Huion.

Now there is a third way, but potentially more expensive if you no longer have a similar Surface device or 2-in-1 computers. Otero Diaz, a chief analyst for Microsoft's chief program manager, revealed on Twitter a feature that is implemented in the Your Phone application for Windows insiders. This feature almost turns a Windows computer into something like a Wacom wireless graphics tablet for an Android phone.

Your Windows 10 Phone already has the function of displaying the phone screen on the desktop and interacting with it using a regular keyboard, mouse and touch screen. What follows is stylus support such as N-Trig and Wacom, including the definition of pressure sensitivity, at least for compatible applications. They can range from drawing applications such as ArtFlow or Medibang to the Microsoft One Note shown above.

Although this is an impressive demonstration of technical capabilities, the practical usefulness of this feature may be a bit dubious. So far, only a few phones are compatible with this screen mirroring feature, such as the Galaxy Note 10, which already has a Wacom-compatible stylus. And if you already have a Windows 10 PC with a large screen and a pen, you probably would rather use full-fledged Windows programs rather than disappoint your Android colleagues.
