Netgear Router can be configured in two modes i.e. router mode and access mode. Router mode is the normal mode which allows a router to use all its features whereas access mode is bridge mode which resists a router to use all its available features. Access mode is configured when there are multiple routers at your place and while configuration router detects another default gateway. If you have a single router at your place, always configure it in router mode. The Router mode allows you to use additional features such as PPPoE, DHCP, Inter-VLAN, VLAN Routing etc.
