If you want to give your used kitchen cabinets a new look, repaint them. It is an inexpensive and an easy way to remodel your kitchen. When you apply a fresh coat of paint, it will give your kitchen a whole new look. All you will need for the job is painting tape, paintbrushes, rags or paper towels, protection for the floor and a can of glossy paint and bonding primer. Use tables to spread out old newspaper and place the cabinet doors on the paper to paint.

Wait at least one day for the paint to dry before re- attaching the cabinet doors. Place the hinges back on the doors and make sure that they are tight so that they hang evenly. Your kitchen will have a brand new look, and no one will know that you did it yourself.

A dimmer switch can be a great way to control the lighting level in a room and save energy at the same time. You have the ability to make small changes in light levelsto set the mood in a dining room for a romantic dinner, lower the levels in a childs room, or even give you flexibility with outdoor lighting. You also save energy by cutting down on electricity bills and extend the life of most light bulbs.
Installing one is fairly easy. Cut the power at the circuit breaker and follow these steps:
Remove the wall plate then unscrew the switch mounting screws.
Grab the switch by its flanges and pull it straight out. With a circuit tester, double check to make sure the circuit is not still electrically charged. The tester wont light up if there is still power.
Unscrew the wires from the terminals. If they are stuffed into holes in the back of the switch, use a screwdriver to free them. Straighten the ends of the wires, snip them off, and strip the ends again.
Use a wire nut to connect the dimmers green ground wire to the bare copper or green ground wire in the switch box.
Next, connect one of the dimmers black wires to each of the two black wires in the box.
Be sure that the connections are tight. Carefully push the wires into the box to make room for the dimmer. Position the dimmer, and screw it to the mounting holes on the box.
Lastly, replace the faceplate. Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and then try it out your new switch.

Need some help. Just got a house and the previous owner painted the kitchen cabinets black. The drawers and doors are painted a beige color. How do I paint over the black? (They also painted the back of a bedroom door black too!) Can I sand down the cabinets and get all the paint off, or should I just try to cover them. They painted the walls in the kitchen a sage green and put up a border with grapes on it.

kitchen is one of the most expensive rooms in the home to renovate.It's remodeling is a major task that requires skill and plenty of work. As per my own experienced, Spray painting is one of the best and quicker way. I have sprayed my cabinets using spray. I didn't need to spent more time for this painting. Hope you will decide which is better among them.

Call several contractors in your area...tell them you are looking for used cabinets..when they pull old ones that are decent, perhaps they can call you, offer them something for the tip, and haul them off. You will have to be willing to settle for some difficult laying out, because you will not have the luxury of picking sizes...they will be what they will be. But I have found some real winners doing this.

Am I saying you can't get quality used kitchen cabinets? Of course not. As with anything in life you are looking to buy, you can find top quality used models, when you know what you are looking or. However, it does take some knowledge to find the best ones.

First get a measuring tape, at least 12'! Measure the space you want the cabinets in, both height, width & depth. Do a rough sketch of the space, allowing room for the number of cabinets you may need for either base or over counter cabinets.
There are many standard sized preowned cabinets, try to get the ones closest to the sizes you need! The use of cleats are a big help in their alignment!
